I know the show's over and everything but, Spoiler alert.
So I thought about something a few days ago. If J.T and Adam's causes of death were switched, it would've given a whole new meaning to their deaths.
Bc what we have now is that J.T was murdered after leaving a party and saying a sarcastic comment... which is extreme, random, and makes no sense. And Adam, who died from texting and driving, which makes sense but was still random.
But, if their causes of death were switched, J.T, well, would've basically had Adam's death (or maybe texting & hit by a car), and it would've made sense. Adam, however, could've came across some dudes that were, hypothetically, earlier in the episode and already disliked him for being transgender. Then, cross their paths again when their drunk, then get killed like J.T. did, except Adam would've been a victim of a hate crime.
And I think if the show took this route, they could've maybe still talked about the dangers of texting and driving, but definitely talk about hate crimes, transphobia, and hate against LGBT in general.
