Jason Edward Wayne Dickens, also known as Byrd Dickens was born on August 11, 1971. He portrayed Scott Smith, the abusive ex-boyfriend of Kathleen Mead, in Degrassi High. Since the end of the series, Dickens has been working in the Film Industry as a lighting technician. In August 2016, he was charged by Toronto police with producing child pornography. In 2018, he pleaded guilty to the possession and recording of child pornography. He was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison, but was released on bail in 2020.
