The conflict between Johnny DiMarco and Connor DeLaurier began in the eighth season of Degrassi.

Season 8[]
In With or Without You, Connor is bullied by Johnny when Degrassi Community School goes on a field trip to the woods. It was initiated when Connor was talking to K.C. Guthrie about his prized spotted moth collection. Connor tells him things about how he would get better moth-catching results when streetlights are not a factor. Johnny then tells Connor to shut up and punches a hole through Connor's moth-catching net. Connor and K.C. later take revenge on Johnny by placing a snake in his tent while he was playing cards with Alli Bhandari, not knowing Alli was with Johnny.
Season 9[]
In Shoot to Thrill, Johnny is seen bullying Connor along with Bruce the Moose.
