In #HugeIfTrue, Esme and Frankie play Never Have I Ever at Frankie’s house until Frankie goes upstairs with Jonah.
Season 4[]
In #GetMoney, Esme invites Frankie to join her and Zig at the drumming festival. The 3 of them take pictures together and after Zig leaves, Frankie and Esme continue to take pictures together. When Jonah shows up, Esme fixes Frankie’s hair and tells her to go talk to him. When Frankie confronts Jonah and smashes his guitar, Esme films it and posts it online. When Frankie gets in trouble for the video she confronts Esme, she shows Frankie that not all of the comments are negative. Frankie tells her that she needs to give money to Jonah and Esme tells her she needs to do it in a way that will make her feel awesome. They go to The Dot together where Jonah is and Esme films Frankie giving him the money. They leave The Dot and take a picture together with Esme kissing Frankie’s cheek.
In #Preach, Frankie is showing Lola and Shay pictures of her and Esme on her yacht and hanging out together. Lola and Shay are not impressed and they feel like Frankie doesn’t take anything seriously. To prove them wrong, Frankie volunteers to help with the bake sale and cancels her plans with Esme. When Frankie is trying and failing to bake cupcakes, Esme and Zig show up to help her. Frankie accidentally flicks Zig’s face with frosting and this eventually leads to Zig, Esme, and Frankie on the floor on top of each other. Baaz walks in with Hunter and asks if it’s an orgy and Esme says it is. The next day at school, Frankie finds out there is rumors going around about her having an orgy with Esme and Zig which leads her to be unsure if she should hang out with Esme anymore. She confronts Esme after Esme invites her to get burgers with her and Zig. When she tells Esme she isn’t sure if they should hang out anymore, Esme reminds her of how she helped her through her break up while her other friends didn’t have time for her. This changes Frankie’s mind and she goes along to get burgers with Esme and Zig.
in #FactsOnly, Frankie is shown to be proud of Esme when she got into Harvard. Later she hangs out with Esme at the Hollingsworth pool and when Zig shows up, Esme convinces Frankie to kiss Zig. The next day, they are shown in the hall together trying to get Zig’s attention and the three of them walk off together.
In #Fire, Frankie and Esme are cuddling at school with Zig talking about a horror movie. When Esme finds out about Zigs camping trip with Tiny and their friends she is upset that she wasn’t invited. She comments that it would be more fun if her and Frankie were there, Tiny doesn’t seem to agree, but Zig tells them they do make things more fun. Esme is excited and kisses Frankie on the cheek. Later, Esme goes to Frankie’s house and shows her the two matching bikinis she bought for them. Frankie says she’s not gonna go because they technically weren’t invited. Esme says it would be better if Frankie were there because Zig’s friends don’t like her but Frankie tells her to show them how awesome she is and to make her own history with them. Frankie leaves to go meet Shay and Lola who convince her to go on the camping trip anyway since they now will be going. Frankie shows up at the campsite and goes to Esme’s tent. They share a hug and Esme tells Frankie that she tried fitting in with Zig’s friends but it didn’t work. She tells Frankie they have to put on their bikinis and find a place to skinny dip to get Zig to hang out with them and Frankie reluctantly agrees. After walking for awhile, it’s dark and Frankie wants to go back, but Esme is paranoid that Zig is going to abandon her. She tells Frankie the only way that won’t happen is if they have a threesome and Frankie says she’s not doing that. Esme yells at Frankie for being just like everyone else and that she gave everything to Frankie but she won’t even do one thing for her. She tells Frankie to find her own way back and leaves her alone in the woods.
In #KThxBye, Esme shows up at Frankie’s house after prom and is upset saying that Zig will never forgive her and frantically looks for a pen to make a plan. Frankie gives her one and tries to give her ideas, but then says Esme should get some sleep. Esme falls asleep in her bed and Frankie covers her with a blanket. Later downstairs, everyone is talking about the bomb threat and when Yael says lonely people do desperate things, Frankie remembers how Esme said she tried to stop prom and let’s them know this. She goes upstairs to find Esme but she’s gone. She goes to the school to look for her during graduation, but she’s not on the list of graduates despite getting into Harvard. Miles informs her she’s skipped class for a month. Shortly after, Frankie sees Esme pull up outside in a motorcycle. She goes to tell Zig and he goes outside to talk to Esme. When Esme has a breakdown, Frankie is shown to be sad and worried.
