The friendship between Goldi Nahir and Zoë Rivas began during the second season of Degrassi: Next Class.

Season 3[]
In #BreakTheInternet, Zoë is student council president, while Goldi is VP. At first, Zoë hides her sexuality from Goldi. Later after an incident with the QSA, she comes out to her, which Goldi is fine with. They get into a minor crash after Vijay posts a video outing Zoë.
Goldi tells Zoë the QSA won't back down their protest, and Zoë says they will combine the prayer room and the QSA's office. Goldi seems proud of Zoë coming out and she introduces Rasha to her.
In #WorstGiftEver, Grace and Jonah pitch an idea for a play about the bus crash to the Student Council. Zoë and Goldi don't reject the idea, though tell Grace and Jonah to flesh the idea out more. Goldi invites Zoë and Winston over to her house to hang out and meet Rasha. They are all playing games at Goldi's house until Goldi explains that the most common interpretation of the Quran is that it is a sin to be gay, and Zoë chooses to leave for the night. Later, Goldi and Zoë have Miles meet with Grace and Jonah, and they all decide to move forward with the play.
In #PicsOrItDidntHappen, Goldi and Zoë talk to Rasha about her audition for the play.
In #ThatFeelingWhen, Zoë asks Goldi if she knows about any Muslims that are gay, trying to find out about Rasha. Winston uses her answer to get Zoë to ask Rasha for him.
In #Unsubscribe, as part of a scheme, Zoë pretends to be sick, and gets Goldi to cover for one of her student council events, so that she and Rasha can go on their date.
In #Woke, Goldi almost catches Zoë and Rasha kissing in the student council room.
In #ImSleep, Goldi is talking to Zoë, who isn't in a good mood due to being kicked out of her home and Rasha breaking up with her, while she is working on the program design. Goldi offers to help, but it is too much for Zoë, and she leaves the room. Rasha reveals to Goldi that her and Zoë broke up. Later, Goldi asks Zoë if her mom really kicked her out for being gay. Zoë talks to Goldi about it, and then helps Zoë get back together with Rasha after the play.
Season 4[]
In #ILookLikeA, Zoë asks Goldi how long she’s liked Winston and says she was flirting with him, but Goldi denies this. Later, Goldi tells Zoë she has to resign from prom committee because Winston sent her a penis picture and Zoë is shocked by this.
In #RollUpToTheClubLike, Zoë attends the restaurant with Goldi, Winston, and Rasha but ends up leaving with Rasha.
In #FactsOnly, Goldi and Zoë hold auditions for the Talent Show, and they both exchange a worried glance when Maya sings Last Exit.
In #KThxBye, Goldi announces Zoë and Rasha won prom queens and places the crown on Zoë’s head. She later comforts Zoë during graduation, saying Zoë can come to her house for Easter even though she doesn’t celebrate it, saying “if you need someone for Eid, I’m your girl.” They later both attend the after-grad party at Miles’s house.
