The conflict between Grace Cardinal and Baaz Nahir developed during the second season of Degrassi: Next Class.

Grace began to dislike Baaz when he purposely insulted her appearance multiple times, and became even angrier when he told her that he liked her and that he was trying to undermine her self-confidence in order to flirt with her. Grace told him how cruel and misogynistic that he was before threatening him to leave her alone.
Season 2[]
In #BuyMePizza, Baaz walks to Grace while she is siting with Maya Matlin and Jonah Haak, and proceeds to make fun of her appearance. Grace gets up from her seat and threatens Baaz, giving him a 3 second head start, before he runs down the hall. As Grace counts down, Baaz starts to run. Grace along with Maya confront Baaz in hallway and Baaz tells Grace he was flirting with her. Grace says if he wants a girl to like him, then talk to her like a normal person before telling him to leave, and as he runs away, she throws his book at him.
In #TheseAreMyConfessions, Baaz attempts to use his date with Yael Baron in hopes that he can make Grace jealous when she sees him out with another girl (who at the time hadn't come out as genderqueer). Later Baaz begins to follow Grace and attempting to fiirt with her and when Grace passes out, Baaz begins to act frantic when Maya, Tiny Bell, and Zig Novak check on her.

- Grace seems to be on good terms with Baaz's sister Goldi Nahir.
- Baaz also had a conflict with Grace's friend Maya Matlin.
