The short-lived conflict between Holly J. Sinclair and Liberty Van Zandt developed through mutual dislike of each other during season 7 of Degrassi, but they have since become friendly.
Conflict History[]
Season 7[]
In Standing In The Dark (1), during a rant to Liberty about how Lakehurst Secondary School's students should not be allowed at Degrassi (given the death of J.T. Yorke at the hands of the Lakehurst student, Drake Lempkey), Toby Isaacs swings his arm through the air, hitting Holly J. as she and Anya MacPherson are leaving the cafeteria. Holly J. snidely asks him whether he is trying to feel her up, and walks off with Anya trailing behind her. Liberty glares at Holly J. as she walks away.
In Another Brick In The Wall, when Liberty and Toby talk about her student council presidency and how in a few weeks "one of these infants" will be taking over, as she looks in the hallway. Toby jokes that "little Sinclair" could be her heir and Liberty says she perishes the thought. Liberty sees Holly J. walk in and says "Eek! I think she saw me," and ducks out of the way, telling Toby good luck. Toby asks her to not leave, but trails off as Holly J. approaches. Holly J. asks if he's Toby Isaacs and says she has to ask him something, to which he responds "fantastic," sarcastically. She rolls her eyes and says she needs help in math and that her sister Heather Sinclair said he's the nerdiest tutor. After Toby tutors her, they get close, and she later insults him without realizing. She greets Toby the next day as he and Liberty head up the stairs of Degrassi. She says her test was a success, thanks to her super tutor. Liberty has a small smile as Toby lets out a small laugh. Holly J. turns to Liberty and asks for privacy "from [her] man-made fibers, please," to which Liberty responds it's her pleasure to let them "talk," using her fingers as air quotes. She looks at Toby and slowly walks inside. Holly J. tells him that she is willing to date him, even if it means "lowering" her standards and Toby rejects her, saying he'd love a girlfriend, but it can't be her. She is confused and says people will worship him if they date. Toby says it won't be the people he cares about. Holly J. raises her eyebrows and asks "Who, Liberty? Please." He says she had her shot with him, but he calls the shots and walks up the stairs, leaving Holly J. standing there.
Degrassi Minis[]
In Party Etiquette, during a party at Marco Del Rossi's, Holly J. pushes Toby on Paige Michalchuk's bed in an attempt to hook up with him to make her night special, when Liberty walks in on them. Liberty asks Toby "What is this?!" and Holly J. tells her it is none of her business. Liberty tells Holly J. that Toby and her have a "secret thing." Holly J. says "Interesting, because I was about to have a secret thing, too." They look where Toby was and see that he's gone. Toby runs out of the room and Liberty says she'll murder him. Holly J. says "I'll murder a corpse, honey." and runs after Toby.

Grace Cardinal walks up, upset that Tiny got suspended, but Frankie Hollingsworth isn't and joins Lola's protest.
