Michael Carry is a Canadian actor known for having portrayed Simon Dexter, a male model on Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High and the TV movie School's Out!.
Born in 1972, Michael started acting in this series when he was 15 years old in the Eggbert Episode of Degrassi High which was filmed in 1987 and aired on January 4, 1988.

Interviewed in 2009 in Faze Magazine, Michael Carry talked about his time as a cast member of Degrassi. He expounded upon his friendship with Neil Hope, who played Derek Wheeler, and who had recently passed away. Carry discussed that he had been doing catalog modeling and was cast on Degrassi last minute, with no acting experience when the actor cast as Simon dropped out. He auditioned on a Saturday and began filming the next day. He noted that at the time he and most other students were cast, parents had to sign paperwork dictating what the student actors would be paid, giving the producers of Degrassi a significant amount of influence over their children when they were on the set, and that they signed away their rights to video footage, photographs. and royalties. He discussed his off-screen romance with Maureen Deiseach, who played Heather. He said it was well-known among cast members and crew and that intra-cast romances were rare during his tenure on Degrassi. [1]
