#PicsOrItDidntHappen is the fourth episode of season three of Degrassi: Next Class.
Main Plot[]
Maya is up late practicing for her SoCal Art audition and then she looks at videos of horrific tragedies all night. The next day she’s walking with Grace in the halls when she notices Saad talking pictures of her. She confronts him and takes his camera and sees pictures of tragedy in Syria. Saad tells her people were dying around him everywhere and Maya said people were dying around her too. She tells him about Cam’s suicide, Adam’s texting and driving accident, and the bus crash. They climb onto an empty school bus and Saad takes pictures of her posing like Tristan looked after the bus crash. Maya soon after goes to her SoCal Art audition and they seem impressed but tell her she will have to write through her writer’s block. Maya is later in the music room and seems frustrated, until Saad sends her the photos he took of her. Maya later meets Saad at the hospital and he takes pictures of her in a hospital bed while she pretends to be in a coma. Grace later calls Maya and tells her they don’t need her help on the play anymore and Maya seems fine with this as she looks at the photos Saad took of her in the hospital.
Sub Plot[]
Frankie is getting driving lessons from Jonah. When he gets a text message from Grace and laughs at it Frankie wants to see but Jonah won’t let her. Frankie later asks Lola and Shay if guys and girls just be friends and reveals to them what happened with Jonah. She wonders if Jonah might like Grace. She later asks Hunter if he can hack Jonah’s messages and he is reluctant until Frankie says he owes her for not eating him while they were in the womb. He gives her the password but Frankie decided she trusts Jonah. When she’s about to take her driving test, she texts Jonah but he doesn’t respond. Frankie becomes paranoid and decides to read his messages. She sees a conversation he had with Grace where he called Frankie immature. Frankie becomes distracted and messes up her driving test. She later tells Lola about how she read his messages and asks how she is supposed to fix her immaturity. Lola says when guys say immature they are referring to “one thing” and slides Frankie a condom. Frankie is unsure if she could have sex with him and Lola says if she has to ask the answer is probably no. Frankie later gets tickets to an event and gives one to Jonah since she thinks it would make Jonah think she’s mature, but Jonah reveals he can’t come because he has play rehearsals. Frankie is later shown being comforted by Lola when Jonah approaches her. He tells Frankie he’s under a lot of pressure figuring out his future but that he’s lucky to have Frankie. She asks if even though she can be immature and Jonah says he likes her the way she is. They kiss and Jonah offers to take her for ice cream and Frankie says she will meet him in his car. Frankie asks Lola if she still has the condom from before and Lola gives it to her.
Third Plot[]
Rasha auditions for the role of Hero in the play, not knowing it’s a boy role. She is later excitedly talking to Goldi about the play when Zoe interjects and reveals Hero is a boy. Rasha confronts Miles and he agrees to let her try out for Hope. Rasha later tells Zoe she wanted to be Hero because she could relate to his pain and Zoe tells her there’s no reason she shouldn’t have a boy part. Rasha tells Miles that she wants to be Hero because she can relate to his pain since she hasn’t heard from her best friend in Syria and has no idea if she’s okay. Miles agrees to let her try out for Hero again. Later Rasha and Zoe are in a classroom and Miles approaches them and tells Rasha he’s going to play Hero since the character was based on him, but that Rasha can be Coma Boy. Rasha excitedly hugs Zoe and Zoe asks her out for coffee which Rasha accepts.
