Samantha Munro (born October 19, 1990 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) is an actress best known for her role on Degrassi: The Next Generation as Anya MacPherson, first joining the cast during Season 7. Her character graduated during the first half of Season 11, making it her final season. She currently lives in Courtice, Ontario, Canada. Samantha enjoys horseback riding, swimming, gymnastics, and soccer. She is a gymnast in floor exercise, vault, and trampoline. She has starred in Wildcard, Falcon Beach, The Bend, and Would Be Kings. Before making her television appearances, she was a member of the Oshawa Little Theatre, where she performed in Alice in Wonderland, Tom Sawyer, and The Wizard of Oz. Samantha became good friends with her co-star Melinda Shankar. She co-starred in Lifetime's Secrets of Eden with John Stamos and fellow Degrassi cast member Jordan Todosey. Samantha is friends with other Degrassi stars Charlotte Arnold, Annie Clark, and Jordan Todosey. She has guest starred on Rookie Blue and Lost Girl. Samantha played Stacey on Between (season 1), a TV series on Netflix with other former Degrassi stars Jordan Todoesy, Justin Kelly, and Niamh Wilson. She also starred in Lifetime's The Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 Story as Shannen Doherty/Brenda Walsh. Recently, she acted alongside former Degrassi cast member, Shanice Banton, in Lifetime's Her Stolen Past.
