The friendship between Sean Cameron and J.T. Yorke developed in the first season of Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Friendship History[]
Season 1[]
In Jagged Little Pill, on the last day of school Ashley and Toby Isaacs' parents leave for the weekend and they are both allowed one friend over. J.T., who'd noticed Toby had been swooning over Emma the entire year, invites Sean to come over and hang out to teach Toby how to be bad. They only convince him to come when they lie that Emma will be there.
When Sean arrives, J.T. reveals that he has bought ecstasy from his cousin. Sean instantly recognizes it, tells them he will split it and goes downstairs. He switches the ecstasy with a vitamin pill, and gives the real ecstasy to Ashley to throw away. When he returns, J.T. finally calls Emma, Manny, and Liberty who show up later. When Emma sees Sean is there, she says that she wouldn't have gone if she'd known he'd been there.
Season 2[]
In Hot for Teacher, J.T., Toby and Sean talk about J.T.'s morning guinea pig duty with Ms. Hatzilakos. J.T. claims that their time was "hot and saucy". Later that day, after J.T. visited Ms. H during lunch, Toby and Sean make fun of J.T. for taking class so seriously since he has a history of goofing off in the class. Toby and Sean call him Liberty and "Teacher's Pet" because of this and ask when Ms. H is getting him his own cage before walking off. J.T. denies their accusations, puts balloons up his shirt as Ms. H, and taunts them right back until Ms. H stops him, disappointed. They are all later seen discussing J.T.'s evening with Ms. Hatzilakos, being seemingly disappointed about him just helping the class guinea pig, Isabella, give birth.
Season 3[]
In Gangsta, Gangsta, J.T. and Sean sit on the steps of Degrassi laughing at Toby's pictures when Jay, Alex, and Towerz roll up. J.T. mentions that Jay is a psycho and when Jay takes Toby's pictures, Sean takes them back from him. When Jay asks him if he is Toby's bodyguard, Sean says he's his friend.
In This Charming Man, J.T. tells Toby that Sean and Amy's make out session in math was classic but when Emma comes up to them he quickly says that he hates Sean. Emma smiles and thanks him but says he doesn't need to hate him because she's over him. J.T. then brings up the rumors that Sean is stealing stuff from school and Emma brushes it off.
In Accidents Will Happen (2), J.T. is relieved when Sean is partnered with Liberty instead of him. The next day, Sean shakes his head when he sees J.T. watching Manny from afar. When Sean joins Liberty for their project, he notices Liberty zoning out and asks if she's thinking about J.T. to which she replies she'd rather not talk about it. The next day, J.T sees that Liberty has dressed up like a greaser girl in order to impress Sean. Sean, who doesn’t return Liberty’s feelings, asks J.T. for help in warding her off. J.T., who was the target of Liberty’s affection for three years, advises Sean to turn her down harshly so she doesn’t get anymore ideas.
In It's Raining Men, Sean and Jay tease J.T. about his commercial.
Season 6[]
In Rock This Town, Sean attends Liberty's birthday party, where J.T. was stabbed by Drake Lempkey. He was seen in the hospital with Emma, Manny, Toby, and Liberty, and was shocked and angry to learn about J.T.'s death.
In The Bitterest Pill, Sean attends J.T’s funeral with Emma.
In If You Leave, Sean is still mourning the loss of J.T. and helps to lead a protest of Lakehurst during an inter-school cheerleading competition.
